
AMMAN — A Royal Decree was issued on Tuesday to prorogue the ordinary session of Parliament, effective from Wednesday, August 26, 2026, according to a Royal Court statement.
The Lower House and the Senate had passed all six draft laws on the agenda of the extraordinary session: the Draft Local Administration Law of 2026, Draft Amended Jordanian Universities Law of 2026, Draft Amended Real Estate Ownership Law of 2026, Draft Law to Repeal the Civil Consumer Corporation Law of 2026, Draft Professional Work Regulation Law of 2026 and Draft Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission Law of 2026.
